Not only are Cathy and Germaine wonderfully gracious hosts with amazing stories of the history of the place and unending suggestions of places to go and see throughout New England. but the breakfasts they serve are absolutely amazing.
My wife and I along with our Australian Cattle Dog, Floyd, just returned home from our third stay in the past 18 months at the Daniel Rust House. We prefer to stay in B&B's when we travel and this is by far is our favorite. Being able to travel with our "third" son is important to us and not only do they welcome him but treat him as part of the family. Additionally, they will provide doggie care when we cannot take him with us as we visit the area.
You can really tell the caretakers love what they do, they were gracious and helpful and bursting with historical knowledge that they were more than happy to pass along (I learned quite a bit!) . The decor was classy and cozy, our room was beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious! I highly recommend staying here at least once, its more than worth it!
I has an opportunity to stay at this lovely B&B a couple of years ago. I am planning to come back some time this August of 2013. The two inkeepers, Cathy & Germaine were two of the most gracious hosts and those fab breakfasts---OMG!! Friends, don't miss out on this one. Thanks, Ladies! Janet
A most wonderful Bed and Breakfast! This is very beautiful place, great location, romantic and elegant rooms and the best two inn keeprs. I stayed there and loved every minute. If you're in Connecticut, this place is a MUST! highly recommended
If you want the best in B&B lodging, awesome breakfasts that will keep you full until dinner time, and be able to travel with your beloved pet this is the place for you!!
We stayed two nights at this charming Colonial B&B in July 2014. The room was lovely, breakfast was delicious and the hosts very gracious. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the home as well.
